Hello, you've reached Ema Skye! Sorry, I can't come to the phone right now but leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can! Have a nice day.
Next time may be in quite a while... I'm not sure I can live through another day like that.
[ the 90s... Ema please. Vietnam tried to make him into a kpop star even if that's pretty much impossible. ]
Then let's go. [ He moves his arm so she can hook hers through, whether this is the way she meant or not... it's the style he's more used to. ] Did you get directions?
[She hooks, completely okay with this situation, and jauntily starts off down the street. She doesn't even have the SCIENCE BAG this time. Aren't you lucky Merlin?]
Yep! It's about a five minute walk from the train station. Maybe less. But we've gotta go to the entertainment district.
[ The science bag wouldn't have been an issue, but considering he's picking her up and will ensure she gets back safely no matter what--she shouldn't need it. ]
I'm okay with trains. [ He laughs. ] I kept using them in the first week to get used to them. Much better than riding a horse, anyway. Though I suppose I could do that if I really wanted to.
I wouldn't call it a fear. But better to sate my curiosity and get used to something foreign, definitely.
And we had carriages of a kind, too. Though it was mostly for um... royalty? Mostly we just travel on horseback, especially when I'm with Arthur and the knights.
Trust me, by this point I have plenty of experience.
[ It's tiring and hardly fun. He's had to face too many bandits unarmed at this point. He protests a little when she buys the tickets, but then remembers he only has points he's taken from emergency work. He ends up thanking her as they step onto the next train, apologising again then points to a lone seat for her to use. ]
[ He reaches for the above his head, leaning into it. ]
I really don't need to. Besides, you dressed up didn't you? I wouldn't want anyone to get the idea that they can do anything weird while you're standing up on here.
[ What kind of idea does he have of modern people?!? ]
Oh, I really don't know about that. [ He pulls a face. ] Not to say they're all like that, but I've definitely seen some of them do it.
[ Though you didn't........ just say that. ]
Even if I sorted things with him now I don't want that kind of comparison held against me. [ He laughs. ] We're just both concerned about you, I suppose.
I won't ever hold being like him against anyone. He's really important to me, you know. Probably the second most important person after Lana. I've known him for years, and he's always taken care of me when I needed it.
[ He doesn't say any more than that mind you, and instead focuses on the second part of where their conversation went to. ] He seems to genuinely care, but I can't imagine being that grumpy all the time.
Though he doesn't know if they'll ever see eye-to-eye on this. ]
...Most of the time then. [ Is what he mumbles back, though his heart isn't really in it either. ] Sorry. I just don't think I'll ever get used to him.
