Hello, you've reached Ema Skye! Sorry, I can't come to the phone right now but leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can! Have a nice day.
[Ema puts on a burst of speed, and slides forward, through a small archway and into a space between two buildings, where the monster can't seem to reach.]
[ It's only been a day or two since things had gone a little crazy and they'd been trapped in the dark side of the city--where ever that was. He's also aware at this point that he has 0 credits, though thankfully it's easily fixed by going in to poker deal for a night or to work for some unknown native at a party.
It's easy for him to get extra credits as needed... it doesn't mean he's happy about the extra work.
It's while doing that though that he remembers he and Ema never kept that promise, so he sends her a short text to first check how she is, but then to also ask her something. ]
How are you doing? I was thinking it might be time for dinner soon. Did you find out where the best places to go are yet? :)
[Ema's been preoccupied a little with readjusting, but she does remember the agreement. She owed him double this time, for the tomato, too. Which meant his call was fortuitously timed.]
I'm fine. I hope you're well too.
I think I have a place in mind. We can go tonight, or tomorrow night, or whenever. I took time off from my fingerprinting job so I have evenings free.
[ Readjusting was definitely needed, along with a million hours sleep. He would have done this sooner but he pretty much passed out on the floor when he got back. He really pushed himself too far in there. ]
I'll recover.
If you're free tonight we could do it then?
A few people actually. I can only do these though :) ;) :( :'( ;_;
[ Why are there more sad than happy?? And you can thank Rock Lee for the wink... ]
[And with that she signs off and spends the afternoon getting ready.
So, whenever he does turn up, he'll find Ema dressed up a little! In a nice blouse, long plaid skirt, and with a little bowtie. So basically her school uniform minus the labcoat]
[The name was familiar, though even as she silently echoed it twice more, she couldn't quite place where she'd heard that from.]
Was that...the person who was in the city's central...um...office?
[The details were still a bit fuzzy; her main exposure outside the Temple had been a university campus, and university campuses had central offices, where all the most important people worked.]
[She grabs Iris by the hand.]</small.
C'mon, let's go find Mister Wright and Mister Edgeworth. They'll know a good place to keep avoiding those things!
[NOT SURE HOW TO FEEL ABOUT THAT. On the one hand, it would offer great comfort to see them. The two men she trusted more than most. Whom she knew would help her when she needed it. On the other, it meant subjecting them to...this place.]
[ He's only a few minutes late, though it's mostly from under estimating how long the lifts in these buildings take. When he spots her he walks over, tucking his CereVice into his pocket after checking for any messages as he knew he was a little late. ]
Sorry-- [ He points to himself, and while he definitely has had help getting new clothes and Vietnam had even shoved him into a hairdressers, there's no doubt she forgot to tell him about colour coordination. It isn't terrible, but he definitely has spent way too much time trying to work out what the best combination of the modern clothes he has now are. ] --I was having a bit of a disaster.
[ Well it's mostly just the no black and dark blue failure going on so it could be worse but... smh. ]
[Okay. Okay. Try not to laugh. Seriously try not to laugh. Fail at it, but valiant effort! Ema giggles...chuckles...and finally laughs but bites it back quickly.]
