[ It's only been a day or two since things had gone a little crazy and they'd been trapped in the dark side of the city--where ever that was. He's also aware at this point that he has 0 credits, though thankfully it's easily fixed by going in to poker deal for a night or to work for some unknown native at a party.

It's easy for him to get extra credits as needed... it doesn't mean he's happy about the extra work.

It's while doing that though that he remembers he and Ema never kept that promise, so he sends her a short text to first check how she is, but then to also ask her something. ]

How are you doing? I was thinking it might be time for dinner soon. Did you find out where the best places to go are yet? :)

[Ema's been preoccupied a little with readjusting, but she does remember the agreement. She owed him double this time, for the tomato, too. Which meant his call was fortuitously timed.]

I'm fine. I hope you're well too.

I think I have a place in mind. We can go tonight, or tomorrow night, or whenever. I took time off from my fingerprinting job so I have evenings free.

[ Readjusting was definitely needed, along with a million hours sleep. He would have done this sooner but he pretty much passed out on the floor when he got back. He really pushed himself too far in there. ]

[ He's only a few minutes late, though it's mostly from under estimating how long the lifts in these buildings take. When he spots her he walks over, tucking his CereVice into his pocket after checking for any messages as he knew he was a little late. ]

Sorry-- [ He points to himself, and while he definitely has had help getting new clothes and Vietnam had even shoved him into a hairdressers, there's no doubt she forgot to tell him about colour coordination. It isn't terrible, but he definitely has spent way too much time trying to work out what the best combination of the modern clothes he has now are. ] --I was having a bit of a disaster.

[ Well it's mostly just the no black and dark blue failure going on so it could be worse but... smh. ]

Yep! It's about a five minute walk from the train station. Maybe less. But we've gotta go to the entertainment district.

[ The science bag wouldn't have been an issue, but considering he's picking her up and will ensure she gets back safely no matter what--she shouldn't need it. ]

I'm okay with trains. [ He laughs. ] I kept using them in the first week to get used to them. Much better than riding a horse, anyway. Though I suppose I could do that if I really wanted to.

I wouldn't call it a fear. But better to sate my curiosity and get used to something foreign, definitely.

And we had carriages of a kind, too. Though it was mostly for um... royalty? Mostly we just travel on horseback, especially when I'm with Arthur and the knights.

Do you travel with them a lot, then? For knight business and stuff.

[She can't imagine him as a knight, he's too noodle-y.]

Oh look, they're at the train station too! Ema buys tickets and shuffles onto the next train.]

Trust me, by this point I have plenty of experience.

[ It's tiring and hardly fun. He's had to face too many bandits unarmed at this point. He protests a little when she buys the tickets, but then remembers he only has points he's taken from emergency work. He ends up thanking her as they step onto the next train, apologising again then points to a lone seat for her to use. ]
